We will be beginning a poetry unit that focuses on what it means to be a good friend. Your child will be writing and reading several types of poems. One of the most important parts of writing poetry is reading it out loud, so students will be occasionally asked to share poems at home. Our class website will also act as a sharing forum, so if you have the opportunity, please check back to see some of our published student poems and follow the activities we are doing.
In preparation for this unit, Mrs. Trudnowski and I are asking you to spend some time talking with your child about what they know about poetry and being a good friend. Your child will bring home a worksheet to write down what you discuss.
